Intuitive Eating Dietitian

Our regular 1:1 sessions will be the backbone of our work together. We’ll work together to understand not just what you eat, but why and how you eat and move towards a place where eating feels flexible, free and intuitive.

To accompany our work together, you’ll receive access to our signature 12 module online program to support the work that we do in our 1:1 sessions. This is not a replacement for our sessions, but a way to support it so you get more out of each visit.

How An Intuitive Eating Dietitian Can Help You

Intuitive eating isn’t another diet, plan, or set of rules to follow. It’s an evidence-based, compassionate framework that helps you move away from dieting and toward a calmer, more trusting relationship with food.

As an intuitive eating dietitian, I’ll support you to reconnect with your body’s hunger, fullness, and satisfaction cues, gently dismantle diet culture beliefs, and build a flexible way of eating that feels sustainable and enjoyable.

Whether you’ve been dieting for years, feel stuck in the binge–restrict cycle, or are exhausted from overthinking every food decision, I offer personalised, non-diet, weight-neutral support to help food take up less mental and emotional space.

Letting Go of Calorie Counting, Rules & Guilt

If eating feels rigid, stressful, or all-consuming, intuitive eating offers a structured yet compassionate way to untangle the beliefs and behaviours that keep you stuck. Rather than replacing one set of rules with another, intuitive eating helps you rebuild internal trust and flexibility around food.

Using the principles of intuitive eating, we’ll work on:

  • Stepping away from calorie and macro tracking by shifting focus from external numbers to internal body cues
  • Gently dismantling rigid food rules and “good vs bad” thinking that fuel guilt and all-or-nothing eating
  • Reducing shame around eating by separating food choices from self-worth
  • Understanding and challenging diet culture messages that have shaped how you think about food and your body
  • Relearning hunger, fullness, and satisfaction cues, even when they feel unreliable at first
  • Rebuilding confidence and enjoyment around food without fear of losing control

Intuitive eating supports long-term change by helping you respond to your body with curiosity rather than control. Over time, food becomes less mentally and emotionally charged, making space for eating to feel calmer, more flexible, and more sustainable.

Gentle Nutrition and
Building Hunger & Fullness Cues

Intuitive eating includes nutrition — just not the rigid, all-or-nothing, or punitive kind you may be used to. Gentle nutrition focuses on nourishment, flexibility, and wellbeing, rather than perfection or control.

Intuitive eating includes nutrition — just not the rigid, all-or-nothing, or punitive kind you may be used to. Gentle nutrition focuses on nourishment, flexibility, and wellbeing, rather than perfection or control.

Through our work together, you’ll learn how to:

  • Identify hunger cues and respond to them, even when they feel quiet, delayed, or confusing
  • Recognise fullness and satisfaction without pressure to “get it right”
  • Understand the difference between emotional and physical hunger, without judgement or shame
  • Honour cravings in a way that supports trust rather than loss of control
  • Make balanced food choices that support energy, mood, and overall wellbeing
  • Build eating patterns that feel stable, consistent, and supportive of your daily life

Gentle nutrition helps shift eating away from rules and toward body awareness, allowing food decisions to feel calmer, more flexible, and less mentally exhausting over time.

Support for Long-Term, Sustainable Health Changes

Intuitive eating isn’t a quick fix or a short-term solution. It’s a long-term approach that supports reconnecting with your body, rebuilding trust, and improving both physical and mental wellbeing.

Research shows that intuitive eating is associated with lower rates of binge eating, disordered eating behaviours, body dissatisfaction, and depressive symptoms over time, as well as greater weight stability and psychological wellbeing.

Rather than chasing short-term outcomes, intuitive eating helps food take up less mental space and supports health in a way that can adapt with you across different stages of life.

Hi, I’m Kiah Paetz, an Accredited Practising Dietitian, Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician, and intuitive eating dietitian who supports people to find peace with food after years of dieting, food stress, and feeling disconnected from their body.

My approach is shaped by both professional training and lived experience of struggling with my own relationship with food. Years spent in food rules, calorie counting, and the binge–restrict cycle led me to step away from diet culture and pursue a more compassionate, sustainable way of supporting health. That journey is what ultimately guided me toward intuitive eating and working in the eating disorder space.

My work is grounded in the principles of intuitive eating, body trust, and safety. I take a non-diet, weight-neutral, HAES®-aligned approach, and my practice is trauma-informed and neuro-affirming.

I don’t believe in rigid plans, food rules, or “perfect eating.” Instead, I focus on helping you understand your body, reduce food noise, and build a flexible way of eating that supports both physical and mental wellbeing.

Whether you’re new to intuitive eating or need support letting go of chronic dieting, I’ll meet you where you are, with warmth, curiosity, and compassion and help you build a relationship with food that works for you.

Hey, I'm Kiah!

1:1 dietitian sessions

Our weekly or fortnightly 1:1 sessions are the foundation of our work together. We’ll focus on understanding your relationship with food, not just what you eat, but the thoughts, habits, and beliefs shaping your choices. Together, we’ll work to step away from dieting, reconnect with hunger and fullness cues, reduce food guilt and anxiety, and build trust with food and your body in a way that feels calm, supportive, and sustainable.

You’ll receive access to a flexible collection of nourishing recipes to support regular eating and reduce food stress. There are no rigid rules or “good/bad” foods, just gentle ideas to support nourishment, food variety, and confidence with meals and snacks, wherever you’re starting from.

Alongside our sessions, you’ll receive access to my signature online program designed to support intuitive eating and a healthier relationship with food. This program complements our 1:1 work by offering education, reflection, and practical tools you can return to between sessions, helping reinforce progress at your own pace.

Challenges around food don’t only show up during appointment, and support shouldn’t either. You’ll have access to between-session messaging so you can ask questions, receive reassurance, and get guidance when things feel overwhelming, confusing, or uncertain.

 Frequently Asked Questions

01

What is Intuitive Eating & does it work long-term?

Intuitive eating is an evidence-based framework that helps you rebuild trust with your body, reconnect with internal cues, and shift the focus away from diet culture messaging. It has strong long-term research support and is associated with improved body image, reduced binge eating, improved emotional regulation, and more consistent meal patterns. Importantly, intuitive eating is not a diet. It’s a lifelong approach to nourishment that is based on self-compassion, flexibility and trust.

02

Can I do Intuitive Eating if I want weight loss?

It’s normal to have weight-related thoughts or hopes after living in diet culture. You don’t need to stop wanting weight loss to begin intuitive eating, and my role isn’t to judge your feelings. Instead, my role is to help you explore what is beneath these feelings and support you in building sustainable, non-restrictive food patterns. Intuitive eating does not aim for weight loss, but it does support body autonomy, emotional well-being, and stability in long-term eating patterns.

03

Does Intuitive Eating help with binge eating?

Yes! Intuitive eating can be incredibly effective for binge eating. This is as it addresses:
Emotional regulation challenges around food
Restriction and rebound hunger
Fear foods and deprivation of ‘bad’ foods
Mindset patterns are keeping you stuck in a binge-restrict cycle

As a dietitian, my role is to support you in stabilising your eating, reconnecting with hunger and fullness cues, and reducing binge eating episodes without guilt or restriction.

03

What if I don’t trust my hunger and fullness cues?

That’s very common — especially after years of dieting or disordered eating. Reconnecting with body cues is a gradual process. We work gently, using structure, curiosity, and support to help cues become clearer over time, without forcing or rushing.

03

Will I gain weight with intuitive eating?

Weight is not the focus of intuitive eating. Some people’s weight changes, others’ stays the same. The goal is improving your relationship with food, reducing disordered eating patterns, and supporting health behaviours , not controlling body size.
