Weight inclusive dietitian (haes)

Our regular 1:1 sessions will be the backbone of our work together. We’ll work together to understand not just what you eat, but why and how you eat and move towards a place where eating feels flexible, free and intuitive.

To accompany our work together, you’ll receive access to our signature 12 module online program to support the work that we do in our 1:1 sessions. This is not a replacement for our sessions, but a way to support it so you get more out of each visit.

How A Weight-Inclusive Dietitian Can Help You

If you’ve spent years being told to focus on weight loss, only to feel blamed, shamed, or like your health concerns weren’t fully heard, weight-inclusive care offers a different approach.

Weight-inclusive care shifts the focus away from changing your body and toward supporting your health in ways that are realistic, respectful, and sustainable.

As your weight-inclusive dietitian, my role isn’t to prescribe weight loss, but to help you build health behaviours that actually support your wellbeing.

Together, we focus on:

  • Sustainable health behaviours such as nutritional adequacy, stress regulation, gentle movement, and sleep hygiene
  • Gentle nutrition that supports nourishment without restriction or rigid rules
  • Rebuilding connection and trust with your body
  • Supporting metabolic and physiological markers of health without weight-based targets
  • Building a peaceful relationship with food and your body

This approach is grounded in the Health at Every Size (HAES®) framework, which recognises that health is complex, multifaceted, and influenced by many factors beyond body weight. Care is individualised, non-judgemental, and focused on supporting you, not fixing you.

Supporting Metabolic Health & Chronic Health Conditions Without Focusing On Weight

You don’t need to lose weight to improve your health. A weight-inclusive, HAES®-aligned approach focuses on supporting metabolic and physiological health through sustainable behaviours — not body size or weight targets.

This approach can be appropriate for a range of metabolic and chronic health concerns, including:

  • Insulin resistance
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • PCOS
  • High cholesterol
  • Gut health concerns
  • Fatigue and low energy
  • Hormonal health concerns

Rather than pursuing weight loss, we focus on nutritional adequacy, regular eating, blood glucose support, stress regulation, sleep, gentle movement, and medication or medical coordination where needed. This approach also actively reduces weight stigma in healthcare, which research shows can independently impact health outcomes.

Care is individualised, respectful, and grounded in the understanding that health is complex, multifactorial, and influenced by far more than weight alone.

Supporting Body Image and Your Relationship With Food

If weight-centred care has left you feeling disconnected from your body, ashamed of how you look, or afraid of change, you’re not imagining it, and you’re not alone.

These experiences are common after years of dieting and being told your body needs fixing.

As a weight-inclusive dietitian, I’ll support you not only with health, but with the emotional toll food and body concerns can take.

Together, we can gently work through:

  • Body image distress and feeling unsafe in your body
  • Fear of body changes or weight gain
  • A long history of dieting or weight cycling
  • Emotional eating and binge eating patterns
  • Food guilt and black-and-white thinking
  • Reconnecting with hunger and fullness cues

This work isn’t about forcing body positivity. It’s about building safety, neutrality, and trust, so food and body image don’t have to dominate your thoughts or your life.
Hi, I’m Kiah Paetz — an Accredited Practising Dietitian, Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician, and intuitive eating dietitian. I support people to find peace with food after years of dieting, food stress, and feeling disconnected from their body.

My approach is shaped by both professional training and lived experience. After years of navigating food rules, calorie counting, and the binge–restrict cycle myself, I stepped away from diet culture and toward a more compassionate, sustainable way of supporting health. That journey led me to intuitive eating and working in the eating disorder space.

I work from a weight-inclusive, HAES®-aligned, non-diet, trauma-informed framework. This means:

  • I don’t prescribe weight loss or use weight-based goals
  • I don’t require weigh-ins
  • I do use evidence-based nutrition
  • I prioritise safety, consent, and autonomy
  • I respect the complexity of lived experience

My work is grounded in the understanding that health can exist across many body sizes. I aim to create a safe, respectful space for anyone who’s felt dismissed, blamed, or not taken seriously in healthcare, particularly those navigating eating disorders, disordered eating, or chronic dieting.

I don’t believe in rigid plans, food rules, or “perfect eating.” Instead, I focus on helping you understand your body, reduce food noise, and build a flexible way of eating that supports both physical and mental wellbeing. Whether you’re new to intuitive eating or need support letting go of chronic dieting, I’ll meet you where you are at.

Hey, I'm Kiah!

You’ll receive access to a flexible collection of nourishing recipes to support regular eating and reduce food-related stress. There are no rigid rules or “good/bad” foods, just gentle ideas to support nourishment, food variety, and confidence with meals and snacks, wherever you’re starting from.

Alongside our sessions, you’ll receive access to my signature online program designed to support health and wellbeing from a weight-inclusive, non-diet perspective.  Frequently Asked Questions

01

What is a weight-inclusive dietitian?

A weight-inclusive dietitian does not centre care around weight loss or body size. Instead, support focuses on improving health and wellbeing through sustainable, respectful approaches.

This includes an emphasis on:

  • Nourishment and nutritional adequacy
  • Supportive health behaviours
  • Psychological wellbeing
  • Metabolic and physiological markers of health (e.g. blood pressure, blood test results)
  • Quality of life
  • Your relationship with food and your body

Weight-inclusive care recognises that health is complex and multifaceted, and that meaningful health improvements can occur without focusing on weight as an outcome.

02

Can I still want to lose weight and work with you?

Yes, this is very common. Wanting weight loss doesn’t disqualify you from weight-inclusive care, and you don’t need to “get rid of” these thoughts before starting support.

My approach doesn’t shame or judge weight-based desires. Instead, we gently explore where these beliefs come from, how they’re impacting your wellbeing, and how to support your health in ways that don’t rely on restriction, punishment, or disconnecting from your body. Over time, many people find their goals and relationship with their body shift as safety, trust, and health behaviours are supported.

03

How do you measure progress without scales?

Progress can be measured in many meaningful ways without using the scale. In weight-inclusive care, we look at indicators that reflect both physical and psychological wellbeing.

These may include:

  • Improved energy levels and reduced fatigue
  • Greater consistency and stability in eating patterns
  • Reduced binge–restrict cycles or disordered eating behaviours
  • Improvements in relevant blood markers or medical indicators
  • Changes in food noise, guilt and anxiety around eating
  • A more compassionate, neutral relationship with your body
  • Increased confidence and trust in your body’s hunger and fullness signals

Progress isn’t linear, and it looks different for everyone. We focus on changes that support your health, safety, and quality of life, not just a number.
